Winter is the season of stillness, but spring has always been considered the season of change. Life begins to spring from the bare bones of mountains and foliage spreads outward and upward from naked branches of trees; it is the ideal season for change, for motion, and for a new start. Spring is the most beautiful season, many would say. It makes a statement as it explodes into activity, and this design quite effectively mimics this.
The centre of the graphic holds a rising sun, the symbol of Japan, and rising from below the sun is a symbol that seems to eclipse the front of the red sphere. All set in a subtle yellow background that is set inside a black rectangle, clouds drift in a sky above, and a bird rides the warm air of springtime across the left hand side.
From the edges of the rectangle a group of trees seem to sprout like strange hairs. They grow into an interweaving pattern that comes together at the top of the graphic, and from these trees colourful, budding flowers are blooming. This is the major indication of the springtime theme of this attractive and eye catching design.
Although Japanese style is quickly becoming one of the most popular worldwide as its simple elegance becomes more and more valued, this is not the only reason that fashion designers around the globe are taking their cues from the far east. Eastern philosophy is also spreading around the world as people have started to realize that living an isolated, disconnected life is no longer possible in our global society.
With cell phones, email, and instant messenger, there are more ways to keep in contact than ever before. With this, of course, comes the fact that life can easily get out of balance. Much of eastern philosophy is all about balance and harmony, much like this graphic. It is about finding the inner springtime within yourself rather than living in a perpetual internal winter of discontent. It is about finding solace in the new growth and new life of spring when you find yourself becoming stressed or anxious. Essentially, this graphic encourages peace and harmony with the world while also enjoying the maximum style and cool factor possible.
