The street style that has begun to influence fashion design and, in fact, design in general, has come in part from the graffiti art that has become mroe and more prevalent in major cities throughout the world. This graffiti art which was and technically still is considered vandalism and defacement of property, has been recognized by some as actually involving a significant amount of artistic talent. Some tags are instantly recongnizable as the handiwork of different artists as each true graffiti artist has his or her own individual style that distinguishes his or her work from that of others. This realization by some of the public that although the medium of uncommissioned murals is perhaps not the best outlet for artistic talent, these amateurs are actually some of the best artists around in our modern day.
Of course, the graffiti style has been around for years, and is in no way new, although it is now recieving more public attention. This graphic combines this style with a vibe that seems to pulse out the 80s revisited. With this comes the title and main theme of this vibrant and exciting design: break dancers. In a swirling haze of stars and ribbons of black, white, yellow and maroon, several figures break dance, spinning and jumping and performing general acrobatics in the centre of the design. More geometric and abstract images spin out from the centre as if they were radiating away from the energetic dancers and flying out to inspire more and more people to drop what they are doing and give in to the power of dance.
This design is undeniably stylish, and its bright colours and visual motion all draw the eye toward it inexorably. It is clear that the way this design was formulated was meant to draw the viewers eye toward the centre and the dancing figures and then to throw it out again in a dizzying spiral that closely approximates the feeling and idea of break dancing. It is this type of touch that makes this design a truly fashionable one to put on any type of apparel. While some might be turned off by the bright colours, the colour scheme is actually bright without being flashy, and subtle without being dull. The design, overall, combines many interesting elements and comes out with a fusion that is unique and fun.
